New York native, Switzerland based DJ/Producer Sean Tyas is something of a leading light in European trance. Currently ranked #46 in DJ Magazine"s Top 100 DJ Poll 2009, he was also earmarked by BBC Radio 1"s Pete Tong as a "buzzword in trance circles" head of his debut Essential Mix for the station back in February 2009 and hooked by industry power house Beatport has a "One to watch in 2009", leaving little surprise that 2009 went down as undoubtedly his biggest period to date.

Having cut out his niche in the highly competitive production arena to create countless hit tracks, remixes and bootlegs, Sean brings to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony, driving groove and cutting edge production techniques.
The distinctive Sean Tyas sound has captured the imagination of the trance community with the highest echelons of the trance elite such as Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Sander van Doorn and Above & Beyond amongst the heavyweight playlist support. Sean also has legions of fans at grass roots level, from message boards, budding DJs and radio listeners, a fact proven by his meteoric rise up the ranks of popular polls such as the DJ Magazine Top 100 and TranceAddict.com, as well as being awarded 'Best New Face' winner at the recent Trance Awards as well as #3 Best Remixer and #5 Best Producer, with Mixmag also awarding him #8 in their 'Best New DJs' at the end of 2007.

It was in 2006 that Sean Tyas first started to make waves in the trance scene, winning the much hyped Spinnin' Records remix competition for his rework of Sander van Doorn 'Punk'd', and next signed to the Discover label. His first solo release for the label didn't disappoint either, with the energetic and euphoric 'Lift' being one of the biggest releases of 2006 and awarded Single Of The Week on Armin's A State Of Trance show as well as getting signed onto countless best selling compilations. Many big name remixes followed for Sean Tyas, with the magic touch added to tracks from Bobina, Agnelli & Nelson, Vincent de Moor and Above & Beyond amongst others in the past 12 months.

Undeniably a genius behind the controls in a studio, Sean Tyas has also translated his technical talents and popular sounds into one of the most in demand DJ sets in trance today. Demand for Sean Tyas the DJ has soared on the back of both his production success and show stopping performances.

In the UK and Ireland Sean Tyas has built up a solid fan base at major events such as Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Ministry Of Sound, The Gallery and Inside Out, while elsewhere in Europe he's also made his mark on many famous stages, ranging from the Trance Energy, Dance Valley and Mystery Land festivals in Holland, the Monday Bar cruises in Sweden, Judgement Sundays at Eden in Ibiza, east European shows at the Gaudi Arena in Moscow and Beach Party in Poland. In 2008 Sean Tyas has also performed as international resident on all the Godskitchen Global Gathering events worldwide in the main trance arena, and his DJ schedule is further impressive in every continent, with tours of Australia, South America and USA & Canada.

Recent times have seen more trance bombs dropped from the Tyas camp, including a coveted collaboration project with 3 times world #1 DJ Armin van Buuren titled 'Intricacy' and the chart topping 'Somethin's Up' project with Simon Patterson, as well as massive remixes of Tiesto's 'Suburban Train', Gareth Emery feat. Lucy Saunders 'Sanctuary', & Dash Berlin feat Emma Hewitt 'Waiting'..

The past 18 months Sean has truly ramped up his production schedule, with releases such as Banshee & Solo, both chart-toppers, but also has half of his very first alrtist album, 'Clarity', already completed. The first single release off the upcoming album is called 'By The Way' and is available already, complete with Paul Webster on remix duties.

On the compilation front Sean has amassed impressive sales from his various CD projects in Discover's 'Live At USA' and 'Technoclub' CDs to his 'Trance Word Vol 3' which was released on Armada back in August 2008. His follow projects have been a CD for ID&T"s "Trance Energy" as part of the TE"s debut tour of Australia, where Sean featured as one of the headlining acts. He was also selected to compile and mix one of the CDs for the first official "Euphoria Trance Awards" compilation album for Ministry of Sound. To culminate all the recent success, his first official Tytanium Sessions compilation titled Alpha, spanning 2 discs of the Tytanium sound, was released in 2011, further expanding the Tytanium Sessions show brand into another medium.

One final piece of the puzzle has been put into place this year, and that is Tytanium Recordings, Sean's label. The launch release of 'By The Way' has already put this label and brand into top gear, with many great releases, in line with the Tytanium sound & ideal, soon to come!

In the Studio

A huge focal point of Sean's work up until now, is the Apple Mac Pro running Logic Studio. "I think with Logic, I can really quickly get my ideas out of my head and into my ears". Many aditional plugins help to complete the task of course, but mostly everything is done with proprietary logic stuff. Except of course, for the speakers. For the studio, for over the last year, I use and trust the VXT8's by KRK implicitly, They are the PERFECT balance betwen razor sharp accurate monitoring, and keeping the workflow fun, because really now, they are monsters. All is kept in check by keeping a KRK ERGO Room Optimization unit patched in before the speakers, "which really attentuates the boom that the natural acoustics of the material of the walls wat to reflect back in to what I hear. It's a great way to hear the music as I work, and I trust what I hear, which is the most important."

On the go, Sean switches off to a pair of KRK KNS8400 Headphones. "At first, these were described to me as VST8s to put onto my head". Well, now he's a full believer, because he refuses to work with anything else when out of the studio.
